CrossTies Christian Ministries is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organization incorporated in 1995 for the sole purpose of lifting up the name of the Lord our God. There is neither Jew nor Greek, bond nor free, male nor female, for we are all one in Jesus Christ. (Gal. 3:28)
Our purpose is to provide recreational facilities and Christian based education and activities; to meet the spiritual, mental and physical needs of all people in a non-denominational setting.
Our mission is to cross denominational barriers to empower churches and families, no matter what the race, gender or background, and to strive for one solitary goal: put Jesus Christ first in everything we do. We strive to build and develop a strong Christian nucleus of laborers to establish a witness in the world for Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. (II Tim. 3:16) Everything in the Bible is true and applicable to our lives today. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) There is none righteous. Salvation is the gift of God to man and is made possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. If we confess our sins, He will forgive us. God offers us eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8) One who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire in hell. (Rev. 19:20)
Our leadership consists of a board of directors and a board of advisors. We meet monthly to discuss the past, present and future business of CrossTies Christian Ministries which may include, but is not limited to the programs and goals for the year.
Our home is an 1800's cattle barn that was used as a shelter for livestock up until 1966. Today, it is a shelter for people. The Barn and Hickory Holler Campground offer a unique place for many family oriented events. The Barn is fully heated and cooled, contains a commercial kitchen and seating for 200 people on the main level. In the loft there is theater seating for 280 people as well as a stage, sound and light systems. The silo contains 5 floors of rooms. The entire area, which also includes a 7-acre paintball field and an amphitheater with seating for over 1,000 people, is a great place for retreats, conferences, camps, reunions, weddings - the ideas are endless! Our current CrossTies events are:
Gospel Sings begin on Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend. After that, the sings are every third Saturday, June through October. A talented gospel group performs at 6 p.m. (7 p.m. EST). A buffet dinner is available before each sing starting at 4:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. EST).
We also host a New Year's Eve sing, 6-9 p.m. (7-10 p.m. EST), with light refreshments available.
Wild Game Dinner occurs annually in January or February. Each year offers a different 4 or 5 item menu to taste, but if you enjoy sampling venison, alligator, raccoon, boar, elk, moose, goose, duck, squirrel... this is for you. Our guest speaker always enlightens the crowd with tips, stories, and spiritual encouragement.
Inferno Concert is a contemporary Christian music concert at our amphitheater that occurs annually in late summer or early fall. In the event of rain, Hutsonville High School in Hutsonville, IL graciously allows us to use their facility.
Firestorm Paintball provides a spiritual fulfillment by educating the participants on biblical battles and scriptures. It is a physical activity which promotes good health and each game provides a sense of unity and team building.
